Dr. Arundathi Rao, MD, is an experienced medical doctor and board-certified general surgeon, with a focus on minimally invasive advanced gastrointestinal surgery and bariatrics. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 2003, followed by a general surgery residency at Morehouse School of Medicine (completed in 2008), where she gained broad experience as a surgeon and manager of patients. In addition to developing her skills through a General Surgery Residency, Dr. Rao then completed an Advanced GI Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at Advent Health Florida (2008-2010), where she became proficient in laparoscopic techniques that help improve surgical accuracy and improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Rao is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and is licensed by the State of Florida. Dr. Rao has a special interest in advanced surgical techniques that will help improve the health of the gastrointestinal system and enhance the long-term well-being of her patients. Dr. Rao has been recognized for her commitment to quality patient care and has obtained Meaningful Use Stage 1 certification from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for her successful adoption of Electronic Health Record(eHR) systems to increase clinical efficiency.
