About Dr. Adam J. Kaplan

Dr. Adam J. Kaplan, MD, FACS, has a wealth of experience as both a General Surgeon and a bariatric surgeon in the Belpre, Ohio area (and surrounding West Virginia). Dr. Kaplan is dedicated to providing safe and effective surgery for patients needing General Surgery and Bariatric Surgery (bariatric procedures). In 1989, Dr. Kaplan earned his MD degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and completed a General Surgery residency program at the Medical University of South Carolina, gaining extensive knowledge of numerous advanced surgical methods to use during surgery.

Dr. Kaplan is certified by the American College of Surgeons (FACS) in General Surgery. This designation is given to those doctors who adhere to the highest standard of surgical practices. Dr. Kaplan has always practiced at either the Camden Clark Medical Centre (in Parkersburg, WV) or Marietta Memorial Hospital (in Marietta, OH), offering surgical options to the local regions of both West Virginia and Ohio.

In addition to being well-versed in Surgical Techniques, Dr. Kaplan has also developed a keen understanding of Minimally Invasive Surgery (M.I.S.) and Traditional Surgical techniques (T.S.) during his career. He is a strong advocate for helping his patients achieve safe long-term weight loss and (metabolic) health through preventative methods that support them on their path to healthy living.
