About Dr. Adam S. Goldstein

Dr. Adam S. Goldstein, DO, FACS, FASMBS – a board-certified general surgeon whose area of expertise involves the use of advanced minimally invasive robotic as well as bariatric surgical techniques. Completing a Bachelor of Science degree through Cornell University, Dr. Goldstein graduated in the top five percent from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine with a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine. He completed General Surgery Residency training at the University of Illinois Metropolitan Group Hospitals, completing the Advanced Minimally Invasive Robotic and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship through the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center; in addition, he has received specialized advanced laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy training at both the University of Wisconsin and Hackensack University Hospital.

He is certified to perform procedures using the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System and licensed to practice in Virginia, Florida and New Jersey. Dr. Goldstein holds the title of Fellow in the American College of Surgeons (FACS) as well as the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS); in addition, Dr. Goldstein serves as Assistant Professor, Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.

With more than 19 years of clinical activity, Dr. Goldstein has practiced previously in Southern New Jersey, during which time 14 times he has been recognized as a “Top Doc”. Currently, Dr. Goldstein is with Sentara CarePlex Hospital, Hampton, VA, where he provides expert care for all general surgery cases as well as through minimally invasive techniques, bariatric surgery and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy procedure.
