Dr. Alberto D. Aceves, M.D., is a respected surgeon who specializes in both general surgery and bariatrics. With more than 25 years of surgical experience, he has dedicated 14 years to performing bariatric surgery. Throughout his career, Dr. Aceves has focused on providing his patients with long-term weight loss and improved health through advanced, minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Dr. Aceves studied medicine at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Mexico and completed his residency in General Surgery at the General Hospital of Tijuana in 1995. He then went to Mexico City and participated in a bariatric and laparoscopic surgery fellowship at Angeles Lomas Hospital. During this time, he developed expertise in performing minimally invasive procedures.
Currently, approximately 95% of Dr. Aceves’ practice concerns bariatric surgery, including: Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, Duodenal Switch Procedure, Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch Procedure, LAP-BAND® procedure, Fobi pouch procedure, and Revisional Bariatric Surgery. Due to his extensive experience and expertise, Dr. Aceves has become known as one of the leading bariatric surgeons in Mexico.
Due to Dr. Aceves’ expertise in performing laparoscopic bariatric surgical procedures, he can help his patients achieve optimal results with minimal complications, less scarring, and quicker recovery times. He is a Certified Member of the Mexican Board of General Surgery and a Certified Member of the Mexican Board of Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Aceves holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the Mexican College of Surgery for Obesity and, among others.
