About Dr. Ann O’Connor

The highly skilled and board-certified pediatric surgeon, Dr. Ann O’Connor, has extensive experience and expertise in several specialized areas – pediatric bariatrics, robotic surgery, and adolescent weight management – from her practice with CHRISTUS Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, Texas, where she began on 2022 to create a unique adolescent bariatrics program utilizing advanced surgical techniques to provide young patients the opportunity to achieve better long-term health outcomes.

Dr. O’Connor earned her MD from Rush University’s College of Medicine, following completion of her general surgery residency at affiliated hospitals in the Medical College of Wisconsin, and completing a pediatric surgery fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital/Ohio State University. Dr. O’Connor has also worked toward a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst as a part of her investment in healthcare leadership and innovation.

As a diplomate of the American Boards of General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery, and a diplomate with the American Board of Obesity Medicine, among many medical areas, Dr. O’Connor has expertise in treating adolescents through the use of obesity medicine, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and robotically-assisted surgery.
