Dr. Alejandro López, MD, FACS, a bariatric surgeon with more than two decades of experience, operates in Mexico and performs over 20,000 surgeries each year. He is among the top experts in obesity treatment and minimally invasive techniques, who devotes his work to improving the health and life expectancy of his patients by providing lasting solutions to their obesity through effective bariatric surgery.
Dr. López received his medical degree from the University of Guadalajara and completed his general surgery fellowship at IMSS (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social) in Guadalajara. Afterward, he trained as an international surgical resident at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, specializing in advanced laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, and esophageal surgery under some of the world’s leading surgeons.
Dr. López teaches the principles of bariatric surgery to other surgeons in order to improve surgical standards and patient care. His expertise in Robotic Surgery provides him with the ability to use this advanced technology to increase accuracy and speed of recovery. Dr. López is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and an active member of a number of leading professional surgical organizations, including IFSO (International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders).
