Dr. Alexander P. Nagle, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in advanced gastrointestinal surgery and using minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopic or bariatric surgery to help improve patient outcomes through innovative and research-driven care.
After graduating from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine with a medical degree, Dr. Nagle completed his general surgical residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, which is one of the most prestigious surgical training programs in the United States. Following his general surgical residency, he completed a one-year fellowship in Advanced Gastrointestinal and Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques at the Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center, during which time he developed advanced skills in laparoscopic and complex gastrointestinal surgeries.
Dr. Nagle is licensed to practice medicine in Illinois, where he has been board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. His interests include minimally invasive surgery for the treatment of gastrointestinal disease, the treatment of obesity through bariatric surgery, and advanced laparoscopic techniques that allow for the reduction of recovery time and improved patient outcomes.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Nagle conducts surgical research and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications addressing issues such as the outcomes of bariatric surgery, the complications of surgical procedures, and using minimally invasive treatment strategies. As a member of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Nagle is also committed to maintaining the highest standards of surgical excellence through his participation in the continued development of superior surgical practices.
