About Dr. Allen T. Mikhail, MD

Dr. Allen T. Mikhail, MD, is a bariatric surgeon with training from the Cleveland Clinic, who also holds two certifications, according to the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. This dual certification allows him to provide complete care for people suffering from obesity using both surgical and pharmacological means of treating the disease.

Dr. Mikhail has spent his entire career learning about nutrition, metabolism, and how all factors of obesity can affect your overall health and longevity. He has many years of clinical experience treating patients, and to this day, he sees how closely tied together obesity and the chronic diseases, he will work closely with you in order to determine the best form of treatment for you and your weight loss needs.

Dr. Mikhail’s practice looks at obesity as a complex medical disease, and that treating obesity goes beyond weight loss, and that it has far-reaching effects on the body and ultimately long-term health. By utilizing proven results of evidence-based medicine, modern surgical techniques and lifestyle recommendations, Dr. Mikhail has assisted many patients in improving not just their health but also greatly increasing their quality of life.

Dr. Mikhail performs a variety of advanced surgical and medical procedures for weight loss and the treatment of obesity, which may include, but are not limited to: laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, adjustable gastric banding, biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch, intragastric balloon procedures and revision and/or conversion surgery.
