Dr. Angel Manuel Reyes-Villanueva, MD, FACS, FASMBS, DABOM, is a certified general and bariatric surgeon with an emphasis on minimally invasive, laparoscopic, and robotic-associated weight loss surgeries. Dr. Reyes is highly recognized for his holistic and patient-centered approach to obesity treatment. He believes that healing the mind, body, and spirit of the patient all play an important role in helping to develop healthy lifestyles and achieve a sustainable long-term solution.
Dr. Reyes received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. He gained additional experience in minimally invasive surgical techniques and bariatric surgery after completing a fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University, located in Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Reyes is a U.S. Army veteran. Prior to entering private practice, he served as the Director of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington and was instrumental in improving surgical weight loss services for active military members. Dr. Reyes is a member and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS) and is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (DABOM).
