Dr. Anil Pahuja, MD, FACS, FASMBS, is a general and bariatric surgeon who is board-certified and has an advanced specialty in minimally invasive surgery of the gastrointestinal tract – performing surgeries that are complicated yet safe, enabling you to recover quickly and manage your weight long-term.
After earning his medical degree at New York Medical College in 2006, Dr. Pahuja completed five years of general surgical training (residency) at the Westchester Medical Center (2006-2011), where he acquired substantial experience providing highly complex surgical care. He then continued his training with a one-year fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive Gastrointestinal Surgery at the Westchester Medical Center (2011-2012), which focused on bariatric surgery and laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery.
Dr. Pahuja is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is licensed to practice medicine in both New Jersey and New York. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS), which demonstrates his commitment to providing excellent surgical care and ensuring high standards in the field of surgery. Dr. Pahuja has also published peer-reviewed studies related to bariatric surgery in journals such as Surgical Endoscopy, Clinical Cancer Research, and Translational Oncology.
