Dr. Ara Keshishian, MD, MPH, is a board-certified general and bariatric surgeon who has been practicing in Sherman Oaks, California. Among his specialties are advanced metabolic surgery, laparoscopic techniques, and surgical invention. He received his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and was the general surgery resident at Trinity Health Oakland/Wayne State University. Besides his medical education, Dr. Keshishian earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Master of Public Health in Global Public Health from King’s College London. This portrays his eagerness in healthcare, combining clinical work with research and public health.
Along with his surgical career, Dr. Keshishian has had a stint as a biomedical engineer and has been part of the team that developed AI-based technology for the treatment of pediatric strabismus, including the Pinpointeyes application and corrective eyewear, all of which have been peer-reviewed and published. He has a number of U.S., European and Canadian patents related to this invention.
