Dr. Ashley H. Stewart, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon committed to providing high-quality surgical care through evidence-based techniques and patient-centric treatment methods. She received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 2001, where she gained an excellent academic foundation in clinical medicine and surgery. Dr. Stewart completed her General Surgery residency program at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham from 2001 through 2008, receiving extensive training in various types of Surgery and ways to care for patients.
Dr. Stewart has certification from the American Board of Surgery, and her medical licenses are active in Georgia and Alabama. Her clinical experiences include performing General Surgery procedures to improve patient outcomes, safety and overall health. In addition to her extensive clinical experience, Dr. Stewart has put forth significant effort to maintain high quality standards in healthcare delivery; she has received two certifications from CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) Meaningful Use Stage 1 & Meaningful Use Stage 2; which were based on her effective use of an EHR system to provide a better experience for patients with respect to healthcare, communication and clinical efficiency.
