Dr. Aviv Ben-Meir, MD, is a licensed general surgeon based out of Willoughby, Ohio. Dr. Ben-Meir is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and has completed extensive additional training and experience in general surgery. His focus has been on providing safe, effective and patient-centered surgical treatment.
Dr. Ben-Meir obtained his Medical degree from Case Western Reserve University – School of Medicine in 1996. He completed his General Surgery Residency at The MetroHealth System/Case Western Reserve University from 1996-2001. He received an extensive amount of training during this time in a variety of surgical procedures.
Dr. Ben-Meir also has a valid Ohio physician license and a valid (now expired) Virginia Physician License. He has earned distinction in Healthcare Technology and Quality Improvement by attaining the Stage 1 & Stage 2 CMS Meaningful Use Certification through eClinicalWorks from 2010-2011.
In addition to his Clinical Practice, Dr. Ben-Meir has participated in surgical research and has articles published. His areas of research focus on Gastrointestinal and Bariatric (Obesity) conditions. Dr. Ben-Meir has performed studies on mesenteric venous thrombosis after gastric bypass surgery and quality of life after laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Ben-Meir has built a solid foundation for excellence through practice and research.
