Dr. Andrew S. Kastenmeier is an MD who has completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery and an additional fellowship in advanced endoscopic surgery. He is a native of Wisconsin, where he earned his surgical residency from the University of Utah and his advanced fellowship from Legacy Health in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Kastenmeier offers minimally invasive options for reflux disease, hiatal hernias, paraesophageal hernias, achalasia, gallbladder diseases, and more. Additionally, he has extensive experience in complex abdominal wall repairs, hernias and bariatric surgery, and advanced endoscopic procedures. As a physician, Dr. Kastenmeier takes a patient-centered approach to his practice. He emphasizes detailed assessments of his patients’ medical histories, open lines of communication with all patients, and the provision of individualized treatment plans that combine state-of-the-art technology and precise surgical techniques.
He also performs research on foregut surgery outcomes, new devices, and new technologies through funding from various sources. He participates in a number of national committee opportunities and belongs to a variety of national surgical societies working to advance the development of minimally invasive surgery.
At Froedtert Hospital, he provides comprehensive care to all ages (adolescents, adults, and elders). He provides the latest technology in surgical procedures, allowing for shorter recovery times and improved patient outcomes for patients undergoing surgical procedures due to complex gastrointestinal diseases.
