Dr. Alexes Hazen, MD, FACS, is a New York City-based, board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with clinical practices in breast surgery, facial reconstruction, face transplant, transgender surgery, and aesthetic procedures, including fat grafting and non-invasive procedures. She received her medical degree from Brown University and completed her general surgery and plastic surgery residencies and a fellowship in microsurgery at NYU Langone Health.
Dr. Hazen has served in the role as Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at NYU Langone since 2002. She was the Director of the NYU Aesthetic Surgery Center until 2018, when she opened her own practice on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Her academic and clinical work has received significant recognition with several education awards, and she has co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications.
Aside from her work as a surgeon, Dr. Hazen is continuously conducting research, especially on quality-of-life outcomes post-gender-affirming surgery. She has also served in leadership roles in the NYU medical community, such as Vice Chair of the Institutional Review Board and Medical Director of the Hansjorg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Hazen is committed to public education throughout her history as a host of SiriusXM’s “Plastic Surgery Show” to discuss the latest advancements in plastic surgery.
