About Aloysius Smith

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Aloysius G. Smith is board-certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He is a leading expert in plastic and reconstructive surgery and received recognition as one of “New York’s Best” by both Castle Connolly and New York Magazine.

Dr. Smith began his education at the University of the West Indies and completed his internship at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados. At New York Medical College/Metropolitan Hospital Center, he completed fellowships in General Surgery and Hand Surgery. He then completed a fellowship in Plastic Surgery at the highly esteemed Mayo Graduate School of Medicine/Mayo Clinic.

Besides working privately, Dr. Smith also works as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at New York Medical College, where he teaches future surgeons. He has several leadership positions held, including providing operations as Director of Plastic Surgeon for Lincoln Hospital, Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center, St. Barnabas Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Hospital, and serves as a staff physician at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan.

Dr. Smith has built his career on the basis of providing world-class surgical care while treating his patients with respect and dignity. He is committed to advancing the practice of plastic surgery through continued education, mentorship of young doctors, and creating innovative solutions to surgical problems.
