Dr. Ashley Kerekes is a certified plastic surgeon dedicated to reconstructive and aesthetic care through a patient-centered philosophy. She was born in West Virginia and received her medical degree from West Virginia University. During her studies, she fell in love with plastic surgery and completed a very demanding six-year integrated Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Kentucky, where she received many awards for teaching and participated in clinical research.
After finishing her residency, she joined Hardin Memorial Hospital, located in Kentucky, where she created a new Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery program and worked as Medical Director for five full years. During her tenure there, she was also an integral member of the Comprehensive Breast Cancer team and won the organization’s Highest Overall Patient Experience Award in both 2019 and 2020.
In 2021, she switched to private practice with Carolina Plastic Surgery, which is located in Spartanburg, SC, and continues to be involved with the Spartanburg Regional Comprehensive Breast Cancer team. She created Reconstruct the Runway, an annual fashion show that raises awareness of and honors breast cancer reconstruction patients. The American Board of Plastic Surgery certifies Dr. Kerekes, who is passionate about educating and empowering her patients. She values the importance of communication and strong relationships between doctor and patient, as well as individual patient needs.
