About Alper Tuncel, MD

Dr. Alper Tuncel is an acclaimed aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon with an extensive professional background, having been born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1972. His formal education began at Ankara Private Yükseliş College, where he graduated from high school, and continued with his Medical Degree, which was awarded by Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1997. Subsequently, he pursued the requisite training to earn a Master’s Degree in both the fields of Plastic as well as Reconstructive Surgery from the Marmara University Faculty of Medicine and held that degree as of 2004.

Dr. Tuncel completed the final phase of his expanded education by completing Advanced Fellowship Training programs at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School, which included an International experience with some of the newest advanced operative techniques currently available. Once returning to Turkey, Dr. Tuncel opened his own facility and transitioned to becoming an independent practitioner, thereby providing him the opportunity for greater focus and flexibility with regard to his work in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery.

Dr. Tuncel has published multiple works in the academic community, including his graduate thesis titled “Investigation of Venous Component in Neovascularization of Penetrating Scar Tissue: An Experimental Study.” He is an active member of many medical associations and has participated in numerous conferences and symposiums where he has presented on multiple areas of interest in the field of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery.
