About Alexandre Charão, MD

With close to 20 years’ experience in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Alexandre Charão, MD is a highly qualified plastic surgeon based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dr. Charão’s clinical practice is primarily focused on aesthetic breast surgery, advanced liposuction, tummy tucks, and facial aesthetic surgeries, and he offers high-quality surgical care to both Brazilian patients and those from around the world.

Dr. Charão began his medical education in 2003 and, after 11 years of solid training and practice in theory and clinical education, he became a Plastic Surgery Specialist in Brazil, through the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery. Additionally, he completed two years of study to specialize in rhinoplasty at the Paulista School of Medicine in São Paulo.

Dr. Charão has international work experience during his professional life. Additionally, he has worked and trained in more than 15 different countries. He was a recipient of the GLOBO Award in 2006 for his humanitarian work with Doctors Without Borders, where he worked with missions in Africa, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Congo, and Liberia, to name a few.

Dr. Charão Structured: Also, he served as a military physician in the Brazilian Air Force as he oversaw the Plastic Surgery Clinic at the Air Force Central Hospital in 2010.
