Dr. Alejandro Lev, MD, is a highly regarded plastic surgeon in Costa Rica, recognized for his technical skills, attention to detail, and compassion for patients. He was born in Argentina in 1960. Upon graduating from the University of Costa Rica in 1984, he completed his General Surgery residency at San Juan de Dios Hospital, San José. After, he traveled to the Hospital Brigadeiro in São Paulo, Brazil, where he underwent additional training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, graduating in 1990.
Dr. Lev has been a board-certified member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgeons and a member of the Medical College of Doctors and Surgeons of Costa Rica since 1991. Dr. Lev has engaged in private practice in San José since that time. He has served as the Vice-President of the Costa Rican Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and is a member of the International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS), and the Ibero-Latin American Federation of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Lev specializes in performing aesthetic and reconstructive operations with a personal touch so he can ensure that each patient feels like he has only one patient. Dr. Lev is detail-oriented in technique and care, has several of the best anesthesiologists in the country, and takes patients’ safety and comfort first. His patients travel from throughout Costa Rica and the United States. He is known as a “doctor’s doctor” in plastic surgery.
