About Ahmet Hamdi Sakarya, MD

Associate Professor Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Sakarya is a board-certified (European and National) Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgeon with nearly 14 years of surgical experience. He possesses a US Medical Equivalency Certificate (ECFMG) enabling him to practice medicine in the United States, and is a proud member of the American Plastic Surgery Association, International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and the Turkish Reconstructive Microsurgery Association.

Dr. Sakarya completed a reconstructive microsurgery fellowship at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan, training under world-renowned surgeons, Fu Chan Wei and David Chuang. He completed his fellowship with a focus on facial nerve reconstruction and complex head and neck cancer surgeries. He completed his residency at Hacettepe University, which is one of the most reputable plastic surgery centers in Turkey.

Currently balancing his private practice and a faculty position at Marmara University, Dr. Sakarya specializes in facial aesthetics and reconstructive microsurgery. His deep-plane facelift, inspired by reconstructive foundational principles, is planned with the responsibility of a surgeon and delivered with the artistry of an artist. Outside of medicine, he enjoys snowboarding, dancing, martial arts and traveling as a way to maintain balance in life.
