Biography

Dr. Barış Yiğit is an experienced Plastic Surgeon and Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Yiğit was born in Antakya in 1979 and graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine, İzmir in 2003. He did neuroscience research on rats when he was in 4th year medical studies during the six months he spent at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.

In 2004, Dr. Yiğit started his residency in Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and completed it successfully in 2010 at Istanbul University Istanbul Medical Faculty (Çapa). He got the prize in 2006 for finishing the Microsurgery Course by the European Association of Microsurgery.

Dr. Yiğit completed his compulsory service at Mardin State Hospital, then started to work at Düzce University Faculty of Medicine as an assistant professor in 2013 and became in charge of Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department in 2014. He was also hostess of 22nd Basic Microsurgery Course of the Association of Reconstructive Microsurgery.

Dr. Yiğit is a member of many professional organizations such as Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Turkish Reconstructive Microsurgical Society, and International Society of Lymphology. He has made speeches at national and international congresses and also has written scientific articles in many journals.
