Recognized as an authority in the field of plastic surgery, Dr. Pozez is a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and a current full professor and chair of the division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at VCU. With over 30 years of clinical experience, she is highly respected for her warm and caring attitude and for delivering high-quality personalized care that focuses on the needs of the patient. Furthermore, Dr. Pozez believes that clear communication between physicians and patients promotes more meaningful and safer surgical outcomes, as well as an empowering experience for the patient.
Dr. Pozez received her general surgical training at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and completed her training in plastic surgery at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals. Since entering practice in 1990, she has developed extensive expertise in complex wound soins, burn surgery, breast reconstruction, hand surgery, and microsurgery. In addition to being the Program Director for Plastic Surgery at the VCU Health System, Dr. Pozez is an active mentor for the next generation of surgeons and is committed to improving the standard of training in the area of plastic surgery.
Dr. Pozez is a board-certified surgeon through an institute called The American Board of Plastic Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Pozez is a Fellow of the American Society for Plastic Surgeons as well as a member of The American College of Surgeons, and has gained recognition for her high level of proficiency, understanding and leadership capabilities through her practice.
