About Amir Ghaznavi, MD, MBA, FACS

Dr. Amir Mahan Ghaznavi, MD, MBA, FACS (also known as Dr. DMV), is a double board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Dr. Ghaznavi has gained a reputation for his superior skills, artistic eye, and patient-focused practice style. With over 15 years of experience in the operating room, he is the founder of AMG Plastic Surgery in Northern Virginia and provides all types of cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures, all geared toward achieving natural and functional outcomes.

Dr. Ghaznavi completed his undergraduate education at St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed a top-tier residency program in General Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center located in Brooklyn, New York. He completed a residency training program in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital and completed an advanced fellowship training program in microsurgery at the Cleveland Clinic, where he contributed to the development of new lymphedema treatment techniques and to breast reconstruction methods. Dr. Ghaznavi also earned an MBA in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University.

Dr. Ghaznavi has achieved a fellowship with The American College of Surgeons; he is an active member of both the ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgeons) and ASRPS (American Society of Reconstructive Plastic Surgeons). Dr. Ghaznavi has had a national presence for his research with multiple presentations, having authored many papers, abstracts, and book chapters. He has also received recognition as a “Top Doctor” in both Broward County and Fort Lauderdale.

Currently, Dr. Ghaznavi is known for his expertise in body contouring, post-weight-loss surgery, and reconstructive microsurgery; Dr. Ghaznavi provides confidence through natural-looking, transformative results to patients throughout the DMV.
