About Angela Keen, MD

Dr. Angela Keen, MD, is a plastic surgeon who has been trained in this field for over 20 years. Her attention to detail and dedication to her patients make her one of the best plastic surgeons in the world. Aesthetic surgery begins with understanding the patient and listening to their concerns, goals, and dreams. Dr. Keen tries to help create a natural look and shape that provides overall health and confidence to her patients.

As a female plastic surgeon, Dr. Keen perceives the interaction between women and their bodies differently than many male surgeons. Aesthetic surgery is an extension of the caregiving aspect of many women, and so, as a female surgeon, she incorporates compassion, artful expression, and a sound medical basis into her practice. Although Dr. Keen is known for her artistic talent in this area, plastic surgery is still a complex medical specialty and requires the same amount of training, skill, and lifelong learning as does the medical profession in general.

Dr. Keen earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University (1987) and her MD from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine (1995) with numerous awards, including the Merit Award and Howard Hughes Medical Fellowship. She completed her training in general surgery, plastic surgery, and craniofacial surgery (University of Utah) and thereafter went on to work at Primary Children’s Hospital.
