About Andrew Gassman, MD

Dr. Andrew Gassman is a board-certified plastic surgeon who specialised in the area of breast reconstruction and microsurgery and has been one of the team members at PRMA since 2021. Dr. Gassman trained extensively in the area of autologous breast reconstruction and has a passion for providing patient-focused care. Dr. Gassman received his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center, where he was named the Chief of Surgical Resident Education. Following that, he completed an additional residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.

Following his training, Dr. Gassman completed the highly regarded breast and reconstructive microsurgery fellowship and subspecialty training in facial reanimation at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, which is one of the foremost training programs in the nation.

As an active researcher, Dr. Gassman has authored many articles, chapters and abstracts. His interest is in the reduction of pain following surgery as well as developing ways to improve recovery time following complicated surgeries. Additionally, Dr. Gassman’s goal is to continue to improve on the current techniques and procedures that use both multi-flap and perforator-based breast reconstruction.

Dr. Gassman is committed to educating the next generation of surgeons by providing them with the necessary skills to perform complex breast reconstruction surgeries successfully.

He also participates actively in a number of different professional organizations, with a primary focus on providing patients with the best possible results in their reconstructive procedures. Dr. Gassman enjoys spending time with his family, hiking and camping, and likes to create new recipes for his family and friends.
