A qualified plastic surgeon who provides patients with access to the procedures they need to feel confident about themselves, Dr. Amaka Nwubah offers a variety of reconstructive and aesthetic surgical procedures as well as non-surgical options, in English and Spanish, such as breast augmentation, tummy tucks, facelifts and skin resurfacing through lasers.
Dr. Amaka is well-known for her “Mommy Restoration” surgery to assist mothers to return to their prior to giving birth, both physically and emotionally. Dr. Amaka Nwubah has an inspiring story. Amaka was born in New Orleans to a pharmacist and a nurse. Inspired by the positive impact of a medical mission in Nigeria, Amaka attended Louisiana State University, where she graduated with Cum Laude honors. She then attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where she received a merit scholarship and found her passion for plastic surgery.
Dr. Amaka completed her integrated plastic surgery residency at the University of Kentucky, then completed an aesthetic fellowship at the Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery in Houston, gaining advanced skills in fat grafting and aesthetic medicine. She has written more than 70 publications and presentations and has received funding through the Plastic Surgery Foundation for her research on breast reconstruction.
As a Black female surgeon and mother, and advocate for patients, Dr. Amaka combines surgical expertise with compassion and creativity to provide individualized care and outstanding outcomes.
