Dr. Arthur S. Hawes, MD, is a plastic surgeon credentialed by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has undergone extensive training as a reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon. After receiving his medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dr. Hawes underwent 9 years of advanced surgical training, including 5 years of general & vascular surgical training at The New York Hospital/Cornell University Medical Center as well as at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, both located in New York City.
Dr. Hawes completed a fellowship in plastic surgery that took place at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, where Dr. Hawes participated in training with some of the most respected and well-known plastic surgeons in the United States, many of whom developed and perfected techniques such as microvascular, endoscopic and breast reconstruction still used today. Dr. Hawes’ extensive training has provided him a solid foundation in both reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery.
Dr. Hawes is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition, he is a Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and a Member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), all of which demonstrate Dr. Hawes’ dedication to and participation in professional growth through his education and pursuit of excellence. Dr. Hawes is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Plastic Surgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, Springfield Clinical Campus.
