Dr. Andrew Zwyghuizen is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with a focus on breast reconstruction. He is a member of the medical staff of the University of Michigan and MyMichigan Medical Center Midland, as well as working clinically with Sparrow Health System. As the Executive Director of the Michigan Medicine Plastic Surgery Statewide Network, Dr. Zwyghuizen works toward increasing access to quality reconstructive care by providing advanced plastic surgery services in communities throughout Michigan.
Dr. Zwyghuizen completed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Michigan, where he learned the fundamentals of reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. He and Dr. Adeyiza Momoh co-host a Breast Reconstruction Clinic monthly, allowing patients to schedule appointments at the Pardee Cancer Wellness Center and have their surgeries performed at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland.
Dr. Zwyghuizen views breast reconstruction as a very personal experience for each woman; therefore, he takes an empathetic, respectful approach to every consultation and emphasizes clear communication with all patients. He believes in educating his patients to empower them to make informed decisions regarding their breast reconstruction; as such, Dr. Zwyghuizen develops individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s goals and needs. In his free time, Dr. Zwyghuizen enjoys playing guitar and piano, as well as volleyball and wakeboarding.
