About Anthony Paul Tufaro, MD

Anthony Paul Tufaro, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in reconstructive surgery, craniofacial surgery and head and neck surgery. His Bachelor’s degree in Medical Science was conferred at Drexel University College of Medicine, followed by rigorous surgical training programs at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland, including residencies in General Surgery and Integrated Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Tufaro is the only surgeon in the United States to achieve dual board certification by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, which demonstrates not only the depth of training but also the multi-disciplinary nature of his practice. His areas of practice include complex reconstructive surgery, treatment for head and neck cancers, and craniofacial surgery with a strong emphasis placed on both function as well as aesthetics.

Dr. Tufaro has been recognized on a national level as one of America’s Top Doctors by Castle Connolly and America’s Top Doctors for Cancer. He is an active contributor to academic medicine; he has several peer-reviewed research articles published in major surgical journals, and continues to be an active partner in research and education.
