About Ali Al-Attar

Dr. Ali Al-Attar, MD, PhD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon in the Washington, DC area. He specializes in breast reconstruction and aesthetic surgery of the face, nose, breast, abdomen, as well as complex reconstructive surgery. He grew up in Potomac, Maryland, earned his undergraduate degree at Georgetown University, and completed the MD/PhD program at Georgetown University Medical School.

Dr. Al-Attar was trained by some of the best surgeons in the country. He completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Georgetown University Hospital, working on advanced wound healing and breast reconstruction with Dr. Scott Spear. He subsequently completed a fellowship in aesthetic plastic surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital in New York City, where he trained with some of the world’s top surgeons, including Sherrell Aston and Alan Matarasso. He subsequently returned to Georgetown University, where he continued to hone his skills in breast reconstruction under the mentorship of Dr. Spear in clinical care and research.

After years spent in academic medicine, Dr. Al-Attar transitioned into private practice and treats patients from across the DC region, including Northern Virginia and suburban Maryland, as well as patients from around the country and the world. Dr. Al-Attar integrates scientific rigor, artistic precision, and a thoughtful approach to provide natural, safe, and transformative outcomes in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
