About Alexander G. Digenis, MD

Dr. Alexander G. Digenis, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has achieved national and international recognition. He is based in Louisville, Kentucky, where he has been practicing for 29 years as a surgery and non-surgery plastic surgeon for the face, breast, and body. During that time, he has performed over 1,000 surgical and cosmetic treatments annually on all areas of the body. Dr. Digenis is committed to each patient in providing personalized care with attention to detail in the surgical procedure, as well as attention to patient education and safety.

Dr. Digenis completed his surgical training at Vanderbilt University and stayed at Vanderbilt for his first two fellowships in plastic surgery at New York University and the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital, where he received surgical training. Eventually, he became a clinical professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Louisville. He is known in the area for founding the Atlas Surgery Center and Digenis Plastic Surgery & Medi Spa in 1999 as a boutique-style practice, which provides services in a patient-friendly and comfortable environment with a full range of aesthetic procedures.

Dr. Digenis has been chosen as a Top Doctor and Top Surgeon multiple times by his peers. He has received awards from organizations such as the American Institute of Plastic Surgeons, Castle Connolly, and local magazines, including Leo Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Award for Best Plastic Surgeon (2023–2025). He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is involved with national committees working on growing technologies and innovations in plastic surgery internationally.
