Dr. Arun K. Gosain, MD, is a certified plastic surgeon who specializes in plastic, craniofacial, and hand surgery, in addition to performing microsurgery procedures. He earned his medical education from UCLA and completed both a residency in general surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, and another in the College of Medicine at Rutgers University (NJ). Following this training, he continued with a residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for his plastic surgery residency, while also undertaking a fellowship in both craniofacial and hand/microsurgery.
Dr. Gosain holds certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery and maintains his certification by participating in the Maintenance of Certification program offered by the same Board. Dr. Gosain’s entire professional career has been spent working within academic settings, where he has been heavily involved with developing the plastic surgery field through education, research and clinical practice.
Dr. Gosain has served in various leadership roles throughout his career, including being the President of both the American Association of Plastic Surgeons and the American Association of Pediatric Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Gosain also serves as a member of several other surgical organizations, including being part of the governance of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Gosain has received multiple awards recognizing his contributions to the practice of plastic surgery, his mentoring of future surgeons and his academic accomplishments, and he continues to be an active participant in the scholarly literature pertaining to the field of Plastic Surgery.
