Dr. Alan Chen is a board-certified plastic, reconstructive, and hand surgeon with more than 20 years of practice experience. He resides in Illinois, where he is the Chief of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery at Silver Cross Hospital, as well as an assistant professor at the University of Chicago and a clinical faculty member at Midwestern University.
Dr. Chen is a Brooklyn native who graduated near the top of his class at Cornell University, earned his MD at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and completed his general surgery training at Harvard Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Chen then completed a prestigious fellowship in plastic, reconstructive, and hand surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.
In 2010, he opened his own private practice and has transformed it into an award-winning center, where he provides many advanced cosmetic and reconstructive operations, including procedures that were only previously available in major academic hospitals. Dr. Chen’s focus includes, but is not limited to, facial rejuvenation, breast and body surgery, and hair transplantation.
Dr. Chen is a precision provider who remains compassionate and committed to safety. He has published a number of articles, educated countless medical students, and remains frequently rated at the top in patient satisfaction, including from Press Ganey.
