About Aras Tijunelis, MD

As founder of Lake County Plastic Surgery and a board-certified reconstructive and plastic surgeon, Dr. Aras Tijunelis received his medical training through a General Surgery residency in Detroit, Michigan, that included trauma care and surgery, and then went on to complete a fellowship in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery through the University of Wisconsin (UW)-Madison. During that time, he was also involved with various medical mission trips to Ecuador and India; completed mini-courses on microvascular surgery; and completed an externship for cosmetic surgery in Newport Beach, California.

Since opening his own practice in 2000, he has successfully transformed Lake County Plastic Surgery into an advanced, fully functional surgical center for all kinds of reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries under all types of anesthesia. He is a staff member at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, and Grayslake Hospital and serves patients throughout Lake County, Illinois, southern Wisconsin, and surrounding areas.

In 2015, he was elected Chairman of the Surgery Department at Advocate Condell Medical Center. Additionally, he was awarded the 2016 Patients’ Choice Award due to his commitment to providing his patients with quality, compassionate, and expertise in surgical care. Dr. Tijunelis speaks English and Lithuanian fluently and is proficient in German and Spanish. He places heavy emphasis on providing his patients with the highest level of satisfaction and individualized care. In his personal time, Dr. Tijunelis enjoys cycling, camping, and traveling with his wife, Kim and two daughters.
