About Albert Losken, MD

Dr. Albert Losken is a plastic surgeon certified by the board and the Hamm Professor of Surgery at Emory University, where he has served on faculty since 2002. He is the Program Director of the Division of Plastic Surgery and has a wide-ranging background in reconstructive, as well as aesthetic surgery, including breast reconstruction, body contouring, and facial aesthetics.

Dr. Losken has published in excess of 150 articles, many book chapters, and has edited three textbooks, including New Techniques in Partial Breast Reconstruction: The Oncoplastic Approach and Advances in Abdominal Wall Reconstruction. He reviews manuscripts for many journals, including Aesthetic Surgery Journal, Annals of Plastic Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He was asked to present at several national and international invitations, including the Atlanta Breast Symposium and the International Conference on Plastic Surgery.

As well as his clinical work, Dr. Losken has served in leadership roles as the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston and at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. He has been recognized as Teacher of the Year at Emory on three occasions and has been voted one of Atlanta’s Top Doctors. He is also an Honorary Clinical Tutor at the University of Edinburgh. Dr. Losken blends his skills as a surgeon, contributions to academic knowledge, and mentorship to facilitate quality care for patients and train the future generation of plastic surgeons.
