About Alexey Markelov, MD, FACS

Dr. Alexey Markelov, MD, FACS, is a Plastic Surgeon in Tampa, Florida. He is a double board-certified surgeon specializing in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Markelov completed his general surgery training at Drexel University College of Medicine before completing plastic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, which is one of the most reputable residency programs in the nation. He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Markelov’s clinical interest focuses on facial rejuvenation, deep plane facelifts and neck lifts, body contouring, breast surgery, and the surgical treatment of lipedema. He is known for his expertise in breast implant removal and complex revision surgery. Dr. Markelov is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an active member of American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and The Aesthetic Society.

In addition to his surgery practice, Dr. Markelov has been involved in the academic sector through teaching, research, and presentations at a national and international venues.
