Dr. Ali Charafeddine, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. He trained in plastic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he had broad experience in cancer reconstruction, complex microvascular surgery, gender-affirming procedures, face transplantation and cosmetic surgery. Upon completing training, Dr. Charafeddine completed a fellowship in advanced facial aesthetic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic with Professor James Zins, mainly focusing on facelift, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty and endoscopic facial procedures.
As a surgeon-scientist, Dr. Charafeddine spent three years engaged in basic science and clinical research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as well as Emory University, with publications in top journals, including Nature Medicine, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and The American Journal of Transplantation. He has been recognized for his work in plastic surgery and scientific investigations with multiple awards, including Emory’s 7th Research Award and the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation Award.
Dr. Charafeddine believes in patient-centered care, focusing on natural-appearing results and developing an individualized treatment plan for each patient. He is honest and professional and makes himself available to his patients at any hour of the day, and values patient safety and realistic outcomes. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his wife and three daughters.
