Dr. Alfonso Camberos, MD, is a certified plastic surgeon based in the San Diego area of California. He has more than 20 years of clinical experience in both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Camberos is privileges at many facilities in the area, including Sharp Memorial Hospital and Palomar Medical Center Escondido. Dr. Camberos’ priority is to provide safe and tailored care, primarily within breast reconstruction, hand surgery, and a variety of overall aesthetic/reconstructive procedures.
Dr. Camberos graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1998 with a Doctor of Medicine. He subsequently completed a general surgery residency at Kaiser Permanente Southern California, followed by an integrated plastic surgery fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia and Cornell Campus). He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in plastic surgery, surgery of the hand and is also board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
In addition to the clinical perspective of his practice, Dr. Camberos is involved in academic research and has published several articles in journals, such as the Journal of Pediatric Surgery and The American Surgeon, related to assisting surgical decision-making for children and reconstructive surgeries.
