About Albert W. Chow, MD

Dr. Albert W. Chow is a triple-board-certified plastic surgeon in San Francisco whose work focuses on advanced cosmetic surgery of the face, Indian rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, facelifts, and revision surgery. He is listed among Newsweek’s Best Plastic Surgeons in America for 2024-2025, and has a reputation for delivering natural, ethnic-based results with exceptional precision and artistry.

A true San Francisco local, Dr. Chow earned his medical degree from UCSF and completed an internship in general surgery and 5 years in a residency program in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery. He concluded his residency with a fellowship in facial plastic surgery at the University of Cincinnati, and also completed a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the University of Louisville Medical Center. He learned from some of the best surgeons in the country, including the team that performed the first hand transplant in the United States. He became the Chief of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCSF Zuckerberg Hospital and taught residents and fellows in academic roles.

Dr. Chow is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery.

As a commitment to education and global service, Dr. Chow is a Clinical Professor at UCSF and provides reconstructive surgery to children with cleft lips and palates in numerous global settings and supports this both professionally and philanthropically.
